Game of Thrones

In order to gear up for the launch of Season 3 of their critically-acclaimed show, Game of Thrones, HBO took to the streets of Comic Con. With the worldwide popularity of San Diego’s biggest Convention and it’s 200,000 enthusiastic attendees, it’s easy to see why HBO chose Comic Con as their launching pad and Clear Vision Advertisement’s taxi tops to be a part of their campaign. With this great advertising push, HBO now finds itself ready to “take over the Throne” in 2013.

The Challenge

The challenge with the Game of Thrones campaign was to provide great exposure during the Comic Con week-long Convention in San Diego. With buses not running all night and limited forms of OOH medium to capture the downtown convention-going audience, HBO turned to us to help push the campaign locally during the convention.

The Solution

Clear Vision hand-selected 125 downtown cabs and airport fleets to help capture this specific audience. Not only did these cabs provide coverage during the convention, but they also provided after-hours exposure around the downtown area, an option not usually provided by mobile billboards that are contracted for specific hours.

The Result

HBO and the media agency were pleased with the strategic coverage and impact the taxi ads had during the Convention, and have expressed interest in utilizing Clear Vision’s services again next year.
